History of Satun Province
No information of Satun Province before and during Ayuthaya periods has been found in any historical records of Thailand.
It is assumed that there was no Satun Province during that day but it appeared as hamlets, scattering on the plames along the coast.
In the beginning of Ratanakosin period, satun was only a community in the area of Triburi so the history of Satun has relation
with the history of Triburi
according to the royal historical
necord of Ratanakosin in the
say of King Rama II mentioned
that
In
accordance with the substamce
mentioned above it is incliated
that Triburi during that period
separated into two parties;
the first party was leaded by
Jawpraya tripamgaerun omd the
second party leaded by Praya
Apainuraj who depended on Nakorn
Srithammarat Province,
Later,
Preya Apainuraj was appointed
the prouincial govesner of Satun,
bounded by Nakorn Srithammarat.
Then the People of Satun would
be better acquainted and governed
by Nakorn Srithammarat than
Triburi. Praya Apainuraj passed
auay ofter he has been the provincial
govemes for only two years,
and no historical record about
the next governer of Satun but
considering all the possibilities
after that, the next govesner
shouldhouy been Parya Apainuraj
(Pasanu) s’ royal family who
was also more acquainted and
depended on Nakorn Srithammarat
History
of Satun also appears in historical
annals of Sangkhla but some
infoemation about the governers’
names are different from those
mentioned in historical record
of Ratanakosin during the day
of KingRama III
